Building a Safer Community for Children

Protecting children is a shared responsibility. Through education, training, and community engagement, Nashville Children's Alliance equips adults with the knowledge and tools needed to recognize, respond to, and prevent child abuse.

Our programs serve professionals, caregivers, organizations, and community members throughout Middle Tennessee, helping create safer environments where children can thrive.

Trainings Offered

• Stewards of Children®: Stewards of Children® is an adult-focused child sexual abuse prevention training that equips adults with practical skills to protect children and respond to concerns. Through videos and guided discussion, participants learn from survivors and experts.

  • Methods: In-person or virtual

  • Time: 2.5 hours

  • Target Audience: Youth-serving organizations, caregivers, churches, schools, and community members.

  • Approved TNPAL training

• Child Protective Investigative Team (CPIT) Training: Multidisciplinary training focused on child abuse investigations, collaboration, and best practices for professionals involved in child protection.

  • Methods: In-person or virtual

  • Time: 1.5 hours

  • Target Audience: Child protective workers

• Speak Up Be Safe®: Speak Up Be Safe® is a prevention program that helps children and teens build personal safety skills. Students learn to recognize unsafe situations, identify trusted adults, speak up, and seek help. Age-appropriate lessons cover abuse prevention, bullying, cyberbullying, neglect, and online safety.

  • Methods: In-person

  • Time: 15-30 minute sessions (2 sessions per group)

  • Target Audience: Pre-K - 12th grade

  • Approved DHS Personal Safety training

• Safe Screens Sound Minds®: This interactive workshop helps young people explore the connection between social media and mental health through guided discussions, activities, and real-world scenarios. It is ideal for schools, youth groups, and community organizations. Training lasts 45–90 minutes.

  • Methods: In-person or virtual

  • Time: 45-90 minutes

  • Target Audience: Caregivers, community members, and youth and teens

Customized Community Presentations: NCA will work with your organization to create tailored trainings for schools, organizations, faith communities, businesses, and community groups.
